Diet
Fresh water, Hay - 80% of diet, fresh veg - 1 cup per piggie, pellets - 2tbsp per piggie, dried forage sprinkled in hay. Please see the diet section for further information.
Environment
Guinea pigs need enough space for the number of piggies you have (2 sows = 7.5 sqft, 2 boars or 3 sows = 10.5 sqft, 4 sows = 13 sqft, an extra 3 sqft is needed per additional sow. Guinea pigs need access to food and hay 24/7 and their home needs to be kept clean and sanitary. protected from weather and from predators and also have enough hides and house for each pig. Please see housing section for more information.
Companionship
Guinea pigs must not be kept alone, they need the company of at least 1 other guinea pig for their emotional well-being. Rescues will always rehome guinea pigs in pairs or rehome single piggies if you have another already. Other species of animals are not suitable companions and should not be allowed to interact with guinea pigs. Boars can live in pairs, sometimes trios. Sows can live in pairs or larger groups. You can keep one neutered boar with a group of sows. Please see companionship section for further information.
Health
Register your guinea pigs with with an exotic specialist vet. I would suggest keeping a savings pot for vet bills or insurance but insurance can become quite expensive. Carry out a health check at home weekly and consult your vet as soon as you notice any potential issues. Use a safe carrier for transporting guinea pigs. Please see the health section for further information.

Hello,
My friend has given me your contact details.
I wondered if we could book our guinea pig in for a nail and hair cut?
Thanks
